The Building Guide presents articles that deal with building concepts and methods. Over the years I have had conversations with many people on the issue of building style. Some of the people have said that it is better to not teach any style. They believe that new builders should find their own style. Others have said things at the opposite end of the spectrum. They believe that all builders should abide by a certain set of rules. Funnily enough, their rules are the correct ones. Despite this controversy, I still believe that all builders benefit by being introduced to issues about style. Even when someone disagrees with what is written, they are still thinking about building styles. In turn, that helps them define their own style.

With that in mind, here is my guide to building. It is my hope that you can find something useful in it.
